Centres and cyclic cohomology

In this talk, we will discuss how the notion of bimodule category centre in the theory of monoidal categories allows for introducing coefficients in cyclic cohomology theories and will illustrate the general result by examples coming from associative algebras, Hopf algebras or, more in general, Hopf algebroids. Time permitting, we will also show how this is connected to cyclic operads with multiplication and Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras.
