Bergman spaces and m-hypercontractions

We give a survey on some recent results from multivariable operator theory on the unit ball in $C^n$, including transfer function realizations of Bergman-inner functions, characterizations of m-shifts by Wold-type theorems and characterizations of Toeplitz operators with pluriharmonic symbol in terms of higher order Brown-Halmos conditions.
