Orthogonal polynomials: spectral transformations and matrix factorizations

We present some results related to spectral transformations of orthogonality measures and their relation with certain matrix factorizations. We consider both orthogonal polynomials on the real line and on the unit circle. Finally, we analyze a generalization of these results to the more general setting of matrix orthogonal polynomials.
