Point patterns on the sphere

In this review talk we give a quick introduction to point patterns in
the plane: Intensity, higher order moments, functional summary
statistics, point process models and inference. Then we see how these
classical tools extend to the sphere. We will show how to handle point
patterns on the sphere in R. The talk is to the applied side as it
contains no proofs, but has a bit of R code and software illustration.
