Prescribing images of connected Stein open sets in complex spaces

We prove that if f : X -> Y is an open and surjective holomorphic
map between pure-dimensional
connected complex spaces with dim(Y)<dim(X) then there exists a connected
Stein open subset W
of X such that f(W)=Y. Joint work with Mihnea Coltoiu.
